AAA does not publish one national price. Its instant quote is based on an original-equipment-quality battery for your vehicle, so the number depends on your club, car and membership. A 2026 estimate from ThePricer, a third-party site, suggests about $180 to $300 installed for many standard vehicles, and more for AGM, start-stop, European and premium batteries. An older estimate of $110 to $170 is now too low for many newer cars. Quoted prices do not include tax and an environmental fee.

You request a quote online or call 1-800-AAA-HELP. A technician comes to your location, tests the battery, and if it needs replacing, installs a new one. AAA's own page lists free mobile service, free battery testing, installation, and free recycling of your old battery, described as a $70 value. Service hours are typically 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. in most provider areas, but it is not available everywhere, so check your location.

Member Savings: What to Expect

AAA states that members get up to 14% off the new battery, with member savings measured against the non-member price. Another club's page we found quotes a fixed minimum discount instead. If you are not a member, work out whether the discount plus the other benefits of membership would pay for itself, but do not join only on the strength of a battery discount you may not use again for years.

The Warranty in Plain English

AAA lists a 3-year free nationwide replacement warranty on its mobile battery page, with different documents for batteries bought before and after 1 January 2023. "Free replacement" for the full period is stronger than a prorated warranty that gives only a shrinking credit, so it carries real value. Keep your receipt, and check the terms for your club.
